The vllage is not concerned, because they believe in some medieval ideology called sharia. Now, what to do about this village?
On a sidenote, If we had any sense, this country would have long adopted Uniform civil code and thrown out the obnoxious anti-woman Muslim personal laws. But well, that won’t be secular enough. Because Muslim women are not humans,. Sadly, demand UCC, and much of blogsphere will spring to the defence of the mad mullahs. Yes, the best of laws are broken, but I can’t believe that such a law which actively discriminates against women can actually be part of the statute books, fifty five years after independence And some folks will actually defend it!

Nobody realizes that the muslims themselves want it.
Ok,, ok, dont say that the muslim governing bodies are not representative of muslims… when it is convinient for muslims, they do represent them, and otherwise.
Actually, its all right – let them live the way they want to live. Whether they wear veils or not, or marry 4 women is their choice. If they want UCC they have to take the initiative, not us. If they want their laws that ask the woman to marry the rapist, let them have it…
Its not all right, when they start killing “us” for “their” religion, restrict “our” freedom, even restrict “our” freedom in the way we want to do business (eg. ask for islamic banking and stock exchanges in India, etc), or change our demographic profile using the sword or the 4-marriage rule.
Isnt this good enough – live and let live.
