Happy Diwali!

Hey, its Diwali! Wishing all readers a very happy Diwali and a prosperous new year.

Actually, I miss being home today.  Its quite sad to sit in a lonely flat, thousands of miles away from home. Diwali is hardly about rituals, not that I believe in them anyway. Its about the atmosphere. Being at home, close to family and friends whom you have grown up with. Its about Kaju ki barfi which I miss so damned much! I have never been fond of crackers, mainly for environmental reasons, but, sometimes I do like the way they lit up the sky.  And ma would drag me to a Temples, kum se kum aaj ke din to Bhagwaan ko maan le, she would say! And I would go, just to please her. Just for all those times, I would laugh at her for going to Vaishno Devi. Sometimes, its so easy to forget how understanding our parents can be, by letting us make choice even though they believe them to be wrong.

And hey, thanks to n, who dedicates her lovely Diwali post to me. Thanks dost!

Anyway, enough of this. I hope you guys are having great fun. Enjoy and once more, Happy Diwali!

And sorry for the rambling post….

    Wishing you all a Happy Diwali-the festival of lights, its festivities around and the sheer joy for the coming seasons

    …Home.These walls, this sky
    splintered with wakes of light,
    these mud-lamps beaded round
    the eaves, the festive night….{Vikram Seth}

    …All you who sleep tonight
    far from the ones you love,
    no hand to left or right,
    and emptiness above-

    know that you are not alone………umm, Home Is Where the Heart Is
