That might be true in some cases. Not true in mine. My dad married pretty late because well he was too busy trying to change the world. You know the sixties and seventies…

This is a theory of someone I met this weekend… my wife’s family friend:
People from our parents’ generation usually got married and had kids at a relatively young age. Dads were busy, since it was begining of their careers. Hence, they hardly got to spend time with their kids. The pressure on the kids to get married is not becuase of some interest in their well-being; subconciously, it is because of the need to spend some quality time with their grandchildren, and to make up for the time they could not devote to you.

If you were close to your dad as a child, there is far less pressure on you to have kids.

Naah not blaming my parents for putting pressure on me to get married. But grrrr… they said no galfriends etc in college. You can do that later. I had a few chances but avoided all that, because parental directive. Plus galfriend=no beer, no roaming around, no junglee friends, no guy-jokes, etc etc. Unless the gal is cool about it.

And now, no college no galfriend. No time either. I feel cheated. I say, college is the best time to find a galfriend.. later on,, forget it.. you have to rely on parents again. And now, I dont want to get married either, my little brains are full, cannot take in any more stuff to think about.
