Inviting Nominations For…

Recently, an interesting debate broke out regarding Kiruba’s status as India’s number one blogger. A dude called Chenthil wrote a post giving some ”logical” reasons why he is not, Kiruba defended himself on his blog and Patrix, wrote a logical post, kind of which he is famous for, summing up everything nicely.

Frankly, I have no opinion to offer on this debate:believe it or not! I have not read Chenthil before, though his post seemed somewhat malicious to me. I guess he did not like the drink Kiruba offered him on his last visit to his place. Whatever. I have read Kiruba only via DP and even those I have just skimmed through. The most interesting thing I noticed on his blog is that he had his phone numbers all over the place. Hmmm, probably for any reader who urgently requires Kiruba’s help in the dead of the night. Though I must say this. I found Kiruba’s reply David Dhawanish: True when he says that he has every right to write crap since this is his space and it sells, but then others have the right to criticize him. Anyway, let the big fellas sort it out who is the top/best blogger and let us confine ourselves to the more interesting question.

Who is India’s worst blogger?

Ok, ok I got it. And no, there is no need to send any further rotten tomatoes and eggs this way, though unrotten stuff will be appreciated. What can i say? I am overwhelmed by this errr overwhelming response. I can only thank my boring English teachers, the ugly girls who attended the class(and the sexy ones who did not) and my love for Football for the grotesque state of my English.

But the point is we want a fair competition. I mean, with me around, who else stands a chance? So I have withdrawn myself from this game, such humility I know! Its a big sacrifice and I love coming first but then …anything for you guys!

So, nominate a blogger/blogpost which you think is the worst you have ever read. Tell us in few lines why do you think so. You can leave it as a comment or send me an email. Self-nominations are allowed but only if you can point towards a particular blogpost. Ok, here is a concession, if you absolutely cannot think of anyone other than me, point out the post. Now atleast, you can’t claim you are not spoilt for choices!

We also demand that this post be picked up by DP, afterall what we lack in quality we can surely make up in numbers.

So, depending upon the response we shall decide how long the nominations will be accepted. Though I have a fleeting feeling that I might not get even a single response.

And what about the prize? Well, if the winner is a male blogger, he wins a permanent place on my blogroll. What? You have a problem? What else do you expect for writing badly! And if its a female blogger, she wins a dinner date with me. Now, that is some punishment. heh.

p.s On a serious note, this is not a forum for taking out personal grudges. If you have a problem with a blogger because he ran away with your gf/bf(or for that matter if he did not) sort it out elsewhere.

  1. hey screw it man, it’s all good, you’re writing for yourself and you like it, what more do you want…I feel like blogging, I blog…it’s nice…i don’t care if dick and doogie don’nt like it…I seriously don’t!

  2. Hey, check out my post on popularity

It’s a result of seeing the fight in the Indian Blogospher ;)

  3. The bottom of the barrel is pretty crowded. Tough to nominate the smelliest.
What you could do is to reproduce some of the worst shit every week. That way we get our jollies and you get read.

And there is no way you are 56. Nope. Now pot-bellied … that depends.

  4. Dee,

    Big baby? grrrr…

    So, Other India folks…

    Gaurav,

heh. But yes, a couple of them make sense. My problem with them has never been that they cover ”other India” topics but they seem to reach consistently wrong conclusions.

    Chandu,

Can’t argue with that. And btw, we will ban you for cussing on a family blog.

    ”runs away”

    tgfi,

mut soch re. Itna pressure mut daal dimaag par.

    babez,

Thanks a lot! Cake kahan hai?

    HGL,

Sigh! Stop dreaming dude. Even from bottom there are better options, like me.

    Reflextions,

Man. I was just having some fun. Dont take it that seriously. :)

    Ajay,

    Thanks for the link.

    AQC,

Hmmm, interesting idea. The problem is that some people have reduced criticizm to such a personal level that it is difficult for folks to take it as a criticizm for their writing and not them. And then the blogsphere never had too thick a skin anyway.

    Yes, I am not 56, I turned 57 yesterday. :)

  5. i knewwww you sounded like a sathiya gaya buddha. :) all kinds of suspicions have been confirmed of late. ;)
    Many happy returns of yesterday.

  6. obtenir les bêtises de plus en plus sans signification

    Jyo

  7. of course flattering, since facts are incontrovertible. But it is also demeaning, since facts are meaningless. They contain no narrative….{maintenant nous fuyons la scène…now we flee the scene!}

    Jyo
    I fear your wrath
You can be my wingman any time.tch!

  8. I am not too sure if leaving a comment here is a great idea for the fear of being tracked back and being declared the winner! Nahiiinnn!
    *trailing scream, Hema Malini inspired

  9. tgfi,

    Thanks!

    Jyo,

heh. Shall we reply in French too?

    Shivangi,

Oh1 We will track you down anyways.

  10. I nominate Gaurav Sabnis’s blog. Boring, pompous, and over-rated.

  11. @Confused,

    Where’s my prize??

    Cheers,
    HP

  12. Je suis hors d’haleine, attendant

    Jyo

  13. OK, A difficult one for you.

    This post

Be forewarned if you make mistake your degree will be revoked ;-)

  14. Ummm I will let this pass, am aiming for the Noble.

  15. mnopq,

Thanks! I am going through Gaurav’s blog currently. :)

    HP,

I am still evaluating options. You are in the running, I assure you.

    Jyo,

    grrrrr

    Gaurav,

heh. Such threats. Hmmm, Amit got it a little wrong this time. There is no evidence that good health is linked or has been linked to being white, infact the Whites or rather European settlers wiped out a lot of American Indians by introducing exotic diseases in America. Especially Pox in Mexico.

I don’t have the time for a longer comment, perhaps after the trip.

    Bhagya,

    Sigh! Thats insulting.

  16. Little wrong ! litte you say,

My dear fellow what he had done is an insult to dark (and ugly )people worldwide, there will be recriminations.

Death to the beautiful people ;-)

  18. Whoa I am jumping into the party a bit late.

    My top 3 nominations:

    1. Dcubed.blogspot.com (I heard its closed down, dilip was tired of playing logic games he could not understand)

    2. theotherindia.org (has stalwarts like nanopolitan, annie, shivam, dilip and other secular progressives holding candles)

    3. shivamvij.com (another holier-than-thou attitude clown)

Yeah,, I know I am bad but I am not nominating myself. Strangely enough (from what I have read on the blogosphere), I blog for myself and some friends. I am not much interested in hits, and I get very less of them, deservedly.
