When I was in Bombay on that fateful day…for days at end I heard abt the “spirit of people”, as if it was something to be celebrated….I agree with u there..abt nothing affecting us anymore…

but look at the uphaar case..people did say put didnt they?? And what have family memebers of those lost been abhe to achieve as of now? how many years back was that?

Its not as simple as you think. Most of targets in bombing are random targets. It can be anyone who can get caught in the crossfire, me, you anyone.

So, w cant says w shut our eyes, and everything will be back to normal.

I agree it does sound plausible but I am not sure its something to be proud of. Perhaps, this mentality ensured that we were stuck with the Hindu Rate of growth for 30 years,

I agree that this might be the menatality…. and I was thinking that all along..that they just want chaos and want people to sit up and take notice…But having lived in this world for 26 years and read the “flip side” of all events long after they had happened, I cannot but come to the conclusion there are selfish purposes and personal demands and hidden agendas that everyone wants a solution for….

I can’t prove I’m right, it’s pretty hard to be be proved wrong too!

You know move on, let go, their time will come. And plus, it is the kali yuga, where evil things are bound to increase. So maybe to move on, is the best way to show them we are not afraid; that they are insignificant, and this would probably infuriate the evil doers etc etc.

Whereas the west has always been agressive, taking what they want. Maybe they are not programmed to bide their time and turn the other cheek, so when devestation occurs, they are unable to move on.

This would probably be a pretty good explanation minus the fact that we have blasted politcians who meddle and try to extort whatever they can :S

Why do we hv short memories? coz it suits our circumstances. I’ll give u one example which i heard myself in Gandhidham, Kutch a few months back.
Everyone’s aware of the devastating earthquake which rocked Kutch in 2001, crores of rupees poured in from various organisations and individuals, yet hardly the ppl who were affected recieved the deserved financial help, infact u can still find ppl living in tents coz they still haven’t managed to earn enough to get a proper living place, i’ll repeat again this happened in 2001 and its 2006. When i asked one of such family why dont they fight against the authority and obtained what was meant for them, their reply was,”AAPDE THODI BHIKHARI CHHIYE KE E LOKO JE APE, JEM AAPE EM LAI LEVANU, AMARU MAKAN JYAARE PADYU ENI KIMMAT 7 LAKH RUPIYA HATI ANE ENI SAME E LOKO FAKT 3O HAJAR RUPIYA APSE, ENA KARTA TO TAMBU MAJ REHVU SARU” It means We r not beggars that we will take whatever they feel like giving us, when our house got destroyed it was valued around 7 lacs while these ppl r offering only 30K, so its better to live in this freaking tent untill we manage our own place again.
Rehabilitation there happened successfully only where individual doners took personal interest and made the things happen infront of their own eyes there, otherwise rest of them either stay in rented places which they acquired from the 30k paid by the authorities or those disheartening tents.

I thought about what you said and I completely and respectfully disagree.

The purpose of the terrorist is to achieve certain goals. We might find thir motivations stupid but that dont. They have a cause to espouse. Now if we simply stop caring about what they did, they would simply up the ante. If killing ten people does not achieve the desired result, they will kill 20. No?

What you are saying is the same as claiming that if we stopped caring about Earthquakes, they will stop. The terrorists are as intractable to our reasoning as mother Earth is.

Agreed yaar, but do you and I know what these guys were after when they target a Masjid or a temple or whatever….I mean we talking about political motivation, the public at large do not know why they are being terrorized…a message has been sent out by the terrorists (assuming they have a message of course!) and assuming the receiver has heard that message…why should I come in between? you knock each other out, why bring me in between and ask me to react? You get hurt, bad karma…you hurt other bad karma will get you, don’t bring me into it. When you’re 10 and you’re beating your neighbours kid up, your mom stops you and tell you it’s bad…when your 30 if you’re gonna be doing the same thing….

I would personally think that this (being callous/insensitive/unmoved) kind of reaction would eventually make terrorists realise that they need to start targeting specific individuals to meet their cause/demands rather than target the general population. ***Alright, this thought surely saves the general population,but it is the general public who needs to do something about that specific individual collectively since they r the ones responsible behind most of the deeds of that specific individual, as far as the terrorist the so-called voice of the suppressed ones, the only thing they need to do is to save their own arses coz one day they got to eat and breath metal.
